Sixteen hours a day against your skin. And it's plastic.
Polyester, nylon, elastane — cheap for the people selling them, and they never really leave: not your wardrobe, not the water you wash them in. built2spark is women's hoodies, tees and basics in organic cotton. No plastic fibres. Made in northern Portugal, priced like everyday clothes.
“Buy less, choose well, make it last.”
- Nothing toxic, nothing harmful tested to OEKO-TEX Standard 100.
- Certified organic cotton GOTS.
- Made in Portugal in the Braga knitting region.
What touches your skin all day matters.
Most basics are plastic — polyester, elastane — finished with chemicals nobody prints on the label. We use none of it. built2spark pieces are made from certified organic cotton, dyed and finished with chemistry tested for harmful substances.
Breathable, doesn't trap smell, doesn't shed microplastics in the wash. When a piece finally wears out, it's cloth, not plastic.
Tested, certified, published.
Anyone can print "natural" on a label. We're building the first drop to meet the standards that actually check: OEKO-TEX Standard 100 — every thread, dye and trim tested for harmful substances — and GOTS — organic fibre, clean chemistry and fair labour across the whole chain.
We'll publish the certificates when the collection is produced, not before.
Made in Portugal, start to finish.
Our clothes are made in northern Portugal — the Braga, Guimarães and Porto region that supplies some of Europe's best knitwear. Full-package makers, EU labour standards, and short supply lines we can actually visit.
Clean, certified clothing shouldn't be a luxury.
Clean because every component is tested for harmful substances to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 — and that shouldn't carry a premium.
Natural, certified clothing has a reputation for being expensive. We're building built2spark to change that. By making a small range, ordering only what's wanted, and selling directly — no middlemen — we can keep prices close to what you'd pay on the high street, for something far better made.
We won't show a price until the first drop is final, but that's the promise: honest, everyday pricing.
How the first drop works.
-
1
Join the list.
You'll see the first drop — the pieces, the fabrics, the fit — before anyone else.
-
2
Reserve your pieces during the pre-order window.
It's sustainable because we only make what's ordered — a limited first run, nothing overproduced, nothing sitting in a landfill.
-
3
We make it and ship it.
Made-to-order takes a little longer than pulling stock off a shelf — we'll always tell you the honest timing.

Questions.
Is it really free of anything harmful?
That's the whole reason built2spark exists. No plastic fibres — no polyester, no nylon, no elastane — and every component of the garment is tested to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 for harmful substances: thread, dye, trim. We'll publish the certificates at launch. The only exception we'd ever make is something like a metal or corozo button, and we'll always say so on the product.
When is the drop?
We're aiming to open pre-orders for the first drop in the coming months. We're not going to invent a fake date — the moment the fabric, fit and factory are locked, everyone on the list hears first. That's the point of the list.
How much will it cost?
We're not showing prices until the first drop is final, because we won't promise a number we can't keep. Here's the honest promise: certified organic cotton basics priced close to high-street, not luxury. Everyday clothes at an everyday price.
Where is it made?
In northern Portugal — the Braga, Guimarães and Porto region, with full-package garment makers under EU labour standards. Our cotton is certified organic; because cotton isn't grown in Portugal, the fibre is sourced from certified organic growers and knitted and sewn here.
Why no polyester or elastane?
Polyester and nylon are plastic — they trap heat and smell, and shed microplastics into the water every wash. Elastane is also plastic and makes a garment impossible to recycle. We'd rather get comfort and a little give from the way the cotton is knitted than from adding plastic.
How do you get stretch without elastane?
From the knit, not from plastic. The right cotton yarn and knit structure give a natural, comfortable give and hold their shape. The first drop is hoodies, tees and basics designed to move without needing elastane.
Will it shrink or pill?
A little shrinkage is normal for natural cotton on the first hot wash — wash cool and dry gently and it stays true. Pilling is much less of a problem with natural fibres than with polyester blends, because loose cotton fibres break away instead of clinging on. We choose longer-staple, well-made fabric to keep both to a minimum, and every piece ships with a plain care guide.
What certifications will you have?
We're building the first drop to be certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 — every part tested for harmful substances — and to GOTS, for organic fibre, clean chemistry and fair labour across the whole chain. We'll publish the certificates once the collection is produced, not before, because that wouldn't be honest.
Why a waitlist instead of a shop?
We're pre-launch. Joining the list gets you first look at the first drop, first pick of a limited first run, and a founding-member perk at launch. It also tells us how much to make, so we don't overproduce.
What happens to the clothes at end of life?
Because they're natural fibre and, where possible, single-material, they can biodegrade or be recycled far more easily than plastic-blend clothing. We'll share proper end-of-life guidance at launch.
